Present and Accounted For !

Greetings troops,

Still here.  Although I haven't had much posting time on the blog.  Much on the plate of life for sure.

My wife and I have had the blessing of our second child Sophia being born earlier this week.  She is a beautiful baby and we are extremely happy that she has joined our family.  My oldest daughter and dog seem especially happy.  So as you can imagine we have our hands full in the house at this time.

I am diligently working on 2 commissions as we speak.  I posted earlier about them.  Steve of WWPD fame and friend of mine has trusted me with his Bolt Action Russian Infantry.  I am proud to say I have presented him with 2/3's of the 57 man set from Plastic Soldier Company.  I am working on his 3rd squad of 15 men as I type.  I still have his Heavy Weapons Support and 45 mm AT gun in que.

The second commission of mine is for my friend Judson of the Bolt Action WWPD website fame.  I have finished 10 of his British Infantry for Cold Wars, PA next month.  I will also be getting to him 4 British Engineers and 1 British Commando carrying a wounded fellow.  I still am working on 15 of his British infantry and have a mortar team as well as a 17 pounder in que for him.

I will be getting pictures up of the finished British soon most likely in the next couple of days.  I will also be posting Wargaming Wednesday photos too!  I want to try and work on the ongoing Savage Mezz Zombie story and get a posting out as well soon.  Thank you so much for being patient.

I do have a request from my readers.  Since GW renamed all the paints in their line I am a touch lost looking for my favorites.  I am looking for a wash that is purple in nature.  I believe it used to be called Leviathan? Can anyone help me with the new name of it ?

I look forward to getting some more post out to you, the readers! Enjoy

Janurary Commission WIPS

Greetings troops,

I am still here!  I have been hiding from my Xbox 360 and getting to tons of painting lately.  I have two commissions going as we speak.  My friend Steve's Russian Infantry, HMG teams, Antitank teams and 45mm antitank guns.  I have 2/3 of his infantry completed at this point of time.  These Russians multiple like feeding gremlins after midnight.

My friend Judson's British are being worked on as Russian soldiers dry.  I am currently working on his British Infantry for Cold Wars in March.  I also have his British Engineers, Mortar team and a 17 pdr in tow.

I am also entering my Warlord Viking for the Saga painting contest on the WWPD Tapestry site.  Being a WWPD staff member, I am not allowed to win anything and that is perfectly fine with me.  I figured I would add it to the fray to get other's competitive juices flowing.

Here are 2/3rds of the Russian Infantry, with 19 poses for 57 men in one set.  DEAL!

Here is the Warlord Viking, getting based as we type

1st New Year's Hobby Resolution Complete!

Greetings Troops !

I am proud to announce my FIRST 2013 hobby resolution has been accomplished!  I just ordered my book copy of Force on Force produced by Ambush Alley Games and Osprey Publishing.  It has been on my convention playlist for some time BUT it seems overly popular and ALWAYS booked.  Actually I would love to run a game using Force On Force someday at a convention.  With our newest little one coming soon this would be more of a long term goal.  Look to 2014 at a convention near you, maybe ;)

The book has been ordered and should be here next week sometime.  I can't wait to get my hands on it and get reading.  I believe I will be using 15mm forces for now.  There are some great 15mm modern lines out there!  Such companies as Rebel Minis, QRF Models and Peter Pig have excellent models for modern military geekness.  I can't wait to see what direction this leads.

Achievement Unlocked !

Happy New Year and the gaming hopes !

Greetings troops,

As we hit the end of the year and holiday seasons I wish to extend a Happy New Year!  I am lucky to be able to share our hobby with you the reader.  This year has been a busy one indeed.  Much gaming and painting along with 3 gaming conventions kept my gaming geekness happy.

No reason to go over my gaming year since you have been following along. I wanted to look towards the future and make some New Yea gaming resolutions. So join along and smile, laugh or cry.  We all know we have similar wants and goals year after year.

New Rulesets

Really ? Yes, I know what you are thinking. How could you add more rulesets to your gaming plate.  It's true that I already have Flames of WarBolt Action and Saga on my bookshelf.  My painting que is chocked full of Americans/Russians/British/Germans for Bolt Action and Vikings for Saga.  I can say that I do not one one gamer who isn't looking ahead for his or her next "fix". so here are some of my 2013 targets.
  • Force on Force - Osprey Publishing's modern warfare rulesets has been on my list for some time.  I have numerous model companies products in line of sight for future growth.  I am still a tad torn to what scale to go though. Right now it is a push/shove between 15mm and 25mm.  They have numerous periods to quench your history thirst.  I just want to get my feet in the door and start with the main ruleset! Every time I attempted to find a game at any convention it was full.  It seems to be a solid ruleset with a great following.
  • Infinity - Science Fiction skirmish rules?  Yes please! With numerous factions for any gamer preference along with a low model count needed to start makes for a great game. It has a huge following and great forums.  Again, I will get a rule book and move from there.
  • 28mm Viking army completed for Saga
  • 28mm American army completed for Bolt Action
  • 28mm German army completed for Bolt Action
  • 15 or 28mm modern forces for Force On Force or Savage Worlds
  • New commission work - 2012 started a new chapter for me as a painter for hire.  I take projects one at a time and always strive for customer satisfaction.  I look forward to providing services again this year
  • Zombies - using Savage World rules and or Force On Force as well.  I am still on the fence for scale but I figure it will be 15mm for now.  I wouldn't be surprised to find 28mm figures slowly get painted as well.
  • Blog posts - I am gonna try for at least 1 to 2 posts a week.  Last year was a busy year and it affected my postings.  I appreciate your patience.  I do hope to make the Savage World Zombie story line a bi-weekly post.  It's one of the more popular posts for the blog!
These are some of the more forward goals I have for the year.  Please feel free to share your own.  Together, we can keep each other on track.

Happy New Year ! Keep the Paint flowing and the Dice rolling.
